Lost In The Wilderness - Where Am I?

Path In The Wilderness

- Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 29:5-6

Well, here I am. Somewhere. Don't know where. Don't know how long. But I do know why. That's the start to my journey into Physical Faithness. My name is Danny. Just your average joe who's making it through life one day at a time with the faith and love of Christ guiding me.

I think for a lot of us who follows Christ always has that one question, what is my purpose? Why am I put here on Earth and what is that God wants me to do to help serve? I've struggled with this question for a very long time.

I started following Christ in 2013. Well, I've always believed in Christ my whole life, but didn't start to follow with my heart until 2013. That's where my wife and I found Gateway Church here in Austin. During my journey, I started to get more involved. I joined a small group, got baptized in 2015, and started serving for Gateway helping out with tech for kid's services. Just recently, I'll also be helping with facilitating the Restore classes for Financial Peace University. It's an interesting story of how I got that here that I'll talk about one day later.

Why Physical Faithness?

I love to work out. Well, you wouldn't know looking at me in my current state. But I love to work out. In 2010-2012 I lost over 80 lbs. I was very physically active. 6-8 miles running, crossfit, HIIT, obstacle course runs, I did it all. I was so involved, one day a friend and I walked a 33 miles route in West Austin, Travis County area. My wife told me I looked like death when I got home, and... well, felt every bit of it. In 2013, life happened. I finally married my Queen whom I have been with for 21 years currently, however, with love came hardships. With hardships came a second job. And from there my health went back to gaining the 80 lbs I lost.

Fast forward to 2017, and being more active in my faith, I realized I have to stop making excuses and started getting my health back into order. Part of my spiritual walk is about taking better care of myself. Not only in mind and spirit, but in body too.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

So, I got back to working out. I workout 5-6 days, before two jobs and in between serving, small groups, and church on Sunday. I learned that in order for us to be in alignment with God, we have to do it Mind, Body, and Spirit. And so Physical Faithness came to fruition. The thought behind Physical Faithness is a healthy body from the inside out that is closely connected to God.

So here I am, a new site, a new venture, and no idea what I'm doing. What I do know, however, is that with God guiding me, He will lead me out the wilderness and into a wide open field.

So as I build this site and continue to make my organization grow to help serve you, I want to thank those who have come to visit. I plan to have the site fully operational in the next couple of weeks so please come back or sign up for updates. I promise you won't spam you.

God Bless
