Hello!
Welcome to my new site DD Fitness! It's still in the works and we're ironing out some details for upcoming services, but if you landed here thank you for coming.
My name is Danny and I'm the personal trainer certified through NASM. I received my certification back in March 2018, but have been designing work out programs and doing fun group classes since 2011. Here at DD Fitness, our goal is simple, help you Reinvent Yourself!
How did I get here? It's been a long journey, pretty much my entire life. For the good part of my younger life, I have been overweight, smoked, and drank. I never cared much about anything other than hanging out and smoking in the backyard with friends. At some of my worst times, I have been as heavy as 290 lbs.
In 2005, I sort of had enough and started to workout. It was a rough start. I couldn't even run 1/4 mile without losing my breath. Eventually I got better and was gaining momentum, but like most people, I fell off and gained my weight.
I started my second attempt in 2010. And I was doing good. I dropped 60 lbs to 205, and was doing all kind of event runs, obstacle course races (getting ready to renew my love for ocr with the Spartan coming up), and even at one point went with a crazy buddy of mines and we did a 33 mile walk around Austin's Hill Country.
In 2013, life happened. I got married, had to take on a second job, and again, lost my focus on my health. I regained a good portion of my weight back and was back to where I said I never wanted to go back to.
In 2016, I finally had enough. I refused to let life dictate my health and reentered back to working out. I stayed focused and made the time to make it happened. In 2017 I finally pursued my ambitions I had in 2012 and chased after my certification. It wasn't easy. 2 jobs, working out, church volunteering and God knows what else, my time was extremely absorbed. But persistence wouldn't let me fail and in 2018 I passed my certification. Throughout all of this is something we all can learn. And that's to #keeppushing. We all have obstacles, set backs, and failures in life, but if we don't keep pushing, we'll never reach those goals. I seen a quote that I love to live by: Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
So, what are your goals, your ambitions, or your dreams? Do you take that plunge or do you let fear and negative thoughts kill them? Have weight loss goals in the pass made you feel like you never can lose weight? Here's me in 2010 and present:
I been there. I know what so many of you may go through. So let's go through it together. I'm not your typical health guru that says you can do it and just push push push. I'm you, that person that struggled with yo-yo weight loss too. But I'm here to tell you to run the marathon, not the sprint. Make health a long term lifestyle change and you WILL become successful! Take it from me.
God Bless and thank you for reading.
